Shipping & Packaging
After accepting the quote, its time to package and ship your metals for verification. You MUST follow these instructions exactly. Failure to do so, will cancel insurance protection.
Required Packaging Instructions
** Plan for safety ** A maximum of $45,000 per package is covered under our insurance program. If the total value exceeds $45,000, then multiple shipping labels will be provided. Learn more.
Double-box your shipment:
- Start with a smaller, sturdy inner box. Place your precious metal items inside, protect them with packing paper, peanuts, or other cushioning materials. Securely tape this inner box closed.
- Place the sealed inner box inside a second, larger outer box.
Outer box requirements:
- The outer box must be plain with no branding or logos, except for FedEx branding if applicable.
- The outer box should be just large enough to fit the inner box snugly. If there is extra space, fill it with cushioning materials.
Seal your package:
- Tape every edge of the outer box thoroughly to ensure it is fully sealed and secure.
Apply the shipping label:
- Affix the prepaid FedEx shipping label to the outside of the outer box.

FedEx Shipping Label
A standard 3-day pre-paid FedEx shipping label is included with your quote.
- You may upgrade to 2-day shipping for an additional cost at 0.0035% of the content’s value. (Quote x 0.000035 = cost)
- You may upgrade to overnight shipping, the upgrade cost is 0.0095% of the content’s value. (Quote x 0.000095 = cost)
All shipping labels are provided through FedEx for your convenience and security.
Shipping Your Package
Drop off your package only at a FedEx location. Do not use other carriers or drop-off points.
After you apply your FedEx shipping label to your box(es) (see above segment), hand your package directly to a FedEx shipping clerk and request a receipt for your shipment.
Take a clear photo of the FedEx receipt and text or email it to us immediately for tracking and confirmation purposes.
Important:
Failure to follow all of the above packaging and shipping instructions will void your insurance protection.
Checklist:
- No more than $45,000 per package.
- Double-box.
- Pad the metals inside the first box, tape closed.
- Put inside second box, secure it, tape every edge.
- Use the prepaid FedEx label(s)
- Drop-off only with a FedEx representative, and
- Provide a photo of your receipt to Safe Haven Metal
- You will be solely responsible for lost or damaged packages if these steps are not followed.
Verification Process
Received. Verified. Paid.
Once received, our team of expert evaluators carefully inspects each item to ensure quality. Advanced machines are used to test metal purity and verify precise weights within 24 to 48 hours. If any discrepancies arise, a SHM representative will contact you to discuss and approve a revised quote.
Once our team completes the verification process and you have reviewed and approved any price adjustments, we’ll quickly and securely process your bank details, then your funds are on their way.

Turn Around Time
From packing and shipping your metals to verification and getting paid.
Shipping time can vary depending on which option you choose. Standard Shipping time is 3 business days.
Most orders are processed with 24-48 hours of intake. For more complex orders, please allow up to 72 hours for processing.
Your funds will be available based on the option you select.
Wire transfers: within 1 business day (a $15 fee applies for amounts under $25,000).
Banking with Chase: (Free) transfers within 1 business day.
ACH transfers: (Free) within 5 business days.
Paper checks: (Free) within 3 business days.
In-person appointments may qualify for next-day funding or down payments, which can be processed within 1 business day of your appointment.
